Memorial Day

Unofficial first day of summer yeahy!

Did you know Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day? People think it's a wonderful time to spend a day partying and bbqs. Today we remember all the men and women who have died in our nation's service. I am thankful for the brave men and women who protected our nation. I taught Max about the meaning of Memorial Day and he said, "They are like fighting angels now Mommy." Too sweet. Max also got to enjoy a hot day outside with his new pirate water boat toy. He ran around just in his Angry Birds underwear and hazelwood amber necklace. He had fun splashing water and filling up the solo cups. Yeahy SUMMERS HERE!

Slurp Free Day

"Mommy it's like crack in sugar formation!" -Max

Slurp Free Day today! It starts at 11am and ends at 7pm. I took advantage of the wonderful weather and walked with my boys and enjoyed a free 7.11 oz cup slurpee at 7-11. I got their new low sugar or sugar free mango pretty darn good. Max had a cherry flavor. We called Rad while he was at work and said how yummy and sweet a free slurpee tastes lol. We're a mean family teasing each other like that. Ah free slurpee!

"I'm going to make snowmen cookies!" -Max

I am a very hands on type of mom. I enjoy creating things with my child. Teaching Max to bake was fun! He loves to pretend cook and bake and once I asked him if he wanted to bake Snicker Doodle cookies with me he dropped everything and ran into the kitchen. While I was still in the bedroom. That EXCITED! After putting all the ingredients together we rolled the dough into balls. That's when he decided to stack the crooked balls of dough on top of each other. [see pic] It was nice sharing a moment with Max and teaching him how to bake. Keeping things simple and sweet with my Max. I can't wait to do more with him and with Dean once he gets older!

Somerville Food Sampler

Dear God I'm in HEAVEN! -Me

You know summer is starting when every weekend or so you're scheduled to go to a "food sampler/fest." I love going to all these food related events. Supporting their local restuarants and businesses are great. It was a very HOT day but starting it off with ice cream was real COOL! :D I see Max enjoying himself seeing new products and trying new and tasty foods. I encourage my child to try everything once. There were live bands there, face painting, and FOOD! We had fun...thank you Somerville!

Rahway Car Show

"Mommy can I drive the cars?...PLEASE!!!!!" -Max

Today we met up a friend in Rahway. We went to see the Rahway Car Show. It was a beautiful day and Max got to see more awesome cars. Rad said you see one car show in the area and you see them all. Who cares we got to go out and Max got to see and touch cars other than his hot wheels. It went rather well...Dean was asleep the whole time nothing new. Max wanted to be carried so I put him in the Boba. The day went well. Summer days are coming and we can't wait!

Breastfeeding and Beyond

Breast is best people even if your a yr, 4 yrs, or 50.

First of all the damn wording is totally wrong. "Are you mom enough?" What the hell is that suppose to mean? I'd like to address some mothers can no longer breastfeed for whatever reason and thats respectable. If we breastfeed or bottle feed our young we do our best. So we are mother ENOUGH regardless we breastfeed to a yr or just 6 months or not at all. For we will do anything for our children. So with that said...Today a cover from TIME MAGAZINE rose with a Mother still breastfeeding her 4 year old child. So? There's nothing wrong in that. There's cultures out there who do not that the luxury of options of formula like we have. America is squeamish about this cover only because of the reason that we do not explore this wonderful option to continue giving nutrition to our older child in fear of being ostracized. Just shut the hell up! God made tits for a reason and it isn't to look at and drool...if youre a baby thats cool lol.

Here's my story...I am a breastfeeding mother of two. a 3.5 yr old and a 4 month old. In my opinion (if mother can) breastfeed as long as possible and or let the chid/baby wean off naturally. Sometimes it does take that long most of the time it doesnt. Who are we to judge and say things like "if the kid can remember/walk/talk/has teeth it should stop." or "its gross. its incestual. When is she gonna cut the umbilical cord?!" Its all about nutrition. My 3.5 yr old sees me breastfeed his younger brother and still remembers and is interested in it. Though he no longer feeds from me if he sees my pumped milk he'd go for it. We are the only "mammals" that do not drink our own milk for nutrition for a long duration wether mothers just lose their milk or in fear of what others may think of them. Breast milk does not expire, its benefits does not stop at 6 months or a yr. the benefits are endless: smarter children, lower risk of onset diabetes, lower risk of asthma and eczema, lower risk of obesity later in life, lower risk of contracting ear infect, cold, flu. So why not protect your children for as long as possible?  In the beginning of time there were no bottle all were breastfed wether it went as long as 4 yrs old or just a yr. its all about nutrition. Nothing about it is sexual! Breast is best people even if your a yr, 4 yrs, or 50.

Dean's Baptism

"Today my Grandson is a Roman Catholic!" -My Mother lol

Today was a busy long day! It is my second son's Baptism. We are Roman Catholic and within less than 6 months we baptize our children. Baptism is one of the sacraments a Roman Catholic goes through. A tradition but also it's meaning is deeper than that. St. Theresa of The Child Jesus in Linden where we got married welcomed our Dean as a new member of the Catholic Church. :D We invite our family and Dean's Godparents! We are truly blessed to have all of them come to witness this important event in our son's life. We thank all our family members from the bottom of our hearts! Afterwards, we went to Hibachi Grille & Supreme Buffet in South Plainfield for dinner. Where I found out Maxwell loves frog legs as much as I do. Dean got passed around given presents, hugs, and kisses! We all had a wonderful time! Again thank you for all who went!
