Gardening/planting nobody gets it right the first time. Don't get discouraged. A tip I can give for mini farming on your property is that you should only dig when the soil is reasonably dry [never when wet.] Also save some space by sowing two different crops in a single row...meaning you can mix a slow growing parsnips/carrots with some fast lettuces/radishes. Remember to be patience. Gardening is a relaxing thing to do.

There's nothing like a watermelon that you grow yourself! Yum!
ReplyDeleteSlow growing is right. My little loves watching his Pumpkin grow this year. I guess when you check on it twice a day, it doesn't seem to be growing fast at all.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty much my very same gardening tip. My first raised garden bed seems to be a bust this summer, but there is always next year, right? :)
