Dr. Seuss's Birthday Week

Happy Birthday week Dr. Seuss!

Today marks the start of Dr. Seuss's birthday week! Today Target holds a "Read Across America" reading books from Dr. Seuss from 9am to 11am. They gave free goody bags, snacks, activity book, and fun stuff! Max, Dean, and I decided to stop by our local target and participate in this storytime. As we walked in ten minutes late after dropping Rad off at the gym...we saw so many parents and children sitting on the ground as a Target Team Member read The Lorax.

Max the Lorax lol

A Target Team Member went up to Max and gave him a "swag bag" as Max calls it. He got cool stickers, coloring book with crayons, apple juice, cracker snacks, a Lorax mustach and coupons. :D It was a nice turn out. I met our with another mom friend and her son. Max and his new friend played and enjoyed themselves. Many books were read as kids played. A great morning at Target. Afterwards we all decided to head over to Starbucks and get the kids cake pops and us coffee...decaf for me. Then back out into the windy parking lot...to go home. I can't wait until this saturday to watch The Lorax the film with the kids!

Thank You Internet

Thank God for the internet!

So being a stay at home mom isn't that totally awesome. Don't get me wrong the raising of children yourself and nobody else is great but you can't just talk to a toddler all day long. Have you tried rationalizing with a 3 year old? Might as well talk to a damn wall...sighs. With me being active online in finding groups of stay at home moms and playdates...it releases stress for me. I wouldn't know what to do if I weren't able to go out and meet other parents, friends, and/or have playdates for the boys.

The other night I actually got to go to a meetup of Moms Night Out. It has been 6 weeks since I've last left the house for my own personal "stuff". The group of ladies were great and I can't wait to see them again this Saturday for a meetup I suggested. Today I went to another meetup group playdate for Max at Chuck E Cheese. His day went great! Met a friend, ran around like he was on crack...fun times! Now he's napping with his Ipad on his face. Without Meetup.com and other family friendly sites...and the INTERNET I'd be dead at home! Thank you 'intraweb' THANK YOU!

This Is Harder Than I Thought

I suck at this for sure... ;/

Ok so I gained 5 pounds...hahaha Yes! a whole 5 pounds! CRAP!So this is definitely harder than what I thought. I never really had to lose weight. With my first child I just didn't bother much to tell you the truth. You know I think I know what made me gain weight...BAKING FUCKING COOKIES! I should know better but 6 total dozen of warm chewy snicker doodles...who wouldnt wanna inhale it all...(NOTE: I shared...some) I just had a craving...this is the bad thing about know how to cook and bake...CRAP! I'm gonna need to start over...It's a nice day outside so I'm off of cookies I'll walk my fat ass around...hmm a sad sad day. I also decided no longer looking at the scale. It gets me depressed lol. The next day I walked in the bathroom and the scale was gone only to find it in the stand up shower stall. Is someone also battling their weight in the house? Hmm well...another day and hopefully another pound lost not gain. (;

First night of baking 4 dozen cookies NUTS! huh? lol Who wouldn't wanna eat all of that?!

A Month And 30

It's been a month baby!

A month and five days to be exact since I gave birth to Dean. I'm half way to my weight lost goal. Losing 30 pounds and went down 6 dress sizes! I'm not trying to be skinny. I'm trying to be a healthier me. :D I'm not shy, but sad to admit I weighed 200 pounds. :( For my height (4.11") YES! I'm that short lol...my goal weight should be 120 pounds (according to my BMI). When I was in high school, I was 130-135 pounds, jean size 5...I was perfect. It's amazing how 10 pounds can change a person's face and body. I'll be hitting 130 hopefully by winter. I will not be taking any pills. I'll be doing this all naturally. Watch what I eat and exorcize! I lost 30 pounds without doing anything, well other than breast feeding. I've actually increase my food intake for breast feeding. I haven't gained weight which is awesome. Thinking I eat more, I'd gain...but nope. This friday the 17th, I'll be going to my 6 week postpartum appointment. Then and only then, once approved by my doctor will I start exorcizing. I wont be going to the gym...because I'm dirt poor. I'll be using my home and outside. Plus I have two kids that should count for something right? :D So then...I'll be doing a month by month entry. I can't wait! :D Be happy and healthy everyone!

Two Kids One Month

And they said this is hard...

It's been a month since Dean's been born. A month imagine that a year ago we didn't know we had another little boy on the way. Amazing! Now he's a month and still a sleepy little newborn. Both Max and Dean have been good children for a mom who is in transition. I honestly thought it would be harder. I'm now guessing that once Dean starts crawling and walking I'll be in hell lol. But that's ok. I am blessed to have awesome, kind hearted, funny children. Max for being understanding. When at times mommy "just can't" because I'm with Dean. God bless him he has also been awesome with helping me out. Oh God he has his moments, but he's truly great! As for me, I also thought my energy will sink. But for some odd reason it's sky rocketed to the heavens. I have two kids to take care or and entertain. Yet I find the time to cook actual meals, even bake twice a week (from scratch), take garbage & recycling out (rad does that), do laundry (rad also does that), and do cloth diaper laundry. And that's all I can remember right now. Oh keep the rooms clean! So it's been a month and we've got a routine. I feel comfortable going out by myself with both the boys. As for nursing...a MONTH STRONG! Cloth diaper was a bit of a challenge with prefolds so I switched to fitted diapers. Fuzzibunz works great for him. Max has been potty trained. He goes to the bathroom takes off his own pants and underwear and puts it back on. Sometimes backwards, but at least he's not running around naked lol. It's been a good SHORT month, and I can't wait to see the boys grow up together.

Seeing Red

National Wear Red day!

Why?! So we can raise awareness for heart disease. That's why! February is National Heart month too. Did you know that women die from heart disease more than the next four causes of death combined? Now that's scary. So stay fit, eat healthy, and don't smoke ladies! Here's a funny little video I found online. And for more information please visit...Go Red For Women.

Do you know the signs of a heart attack? 1. Pressure and/or pain in the center of your chest. It lasts for a few minutes and can come and go. 2. Pain on arm, leg, chest, neck, back, jaw, and/or stomach. 3. Shortness of breath, with or without chest pains. 4. Cold sweat, nausea, and lightheadedness. 5. As with men, women's most common heart attack symptom is chest pain. But we as women are likely then men to have the other symptoms, like shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain. So if you are feeling any of these symptoms don't you dare wait for more than five minutes...and get yo ass to the hospital asap!
